| 1st CORPORATE CHALLENGER CUP - IAF won | | Playing with a mission to top the pool Captain of IAF Rajeev Khera won the toss and elected to bat on a relatively damp wicket. Soon they were in trouble as both the openers were back in the hut when the score was 15 runs on the board. Rajesh Kumar right arm medium pacer and Budhi Singh left arm seamer used conditions very well and provided early breakthroughs for there team . Elegant P.M.S. Reddy found left hander Devender Israni an able partner and they put on outstanding 124 runs partnership to pull their team out of trouble . Reddy Scored 55 runs from 62 balls where as Devender Israni made 80 runs from just 61balls. Feature of the partnership was running between the wickets and hitting boundaries to loose deliveries. Ankit singh was pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets although he gave 33 runs in his 4 overs. AIF put a healthy total of 163 on the board by loosing 5 wickets from 25 overs .
Abhishek Sakuja gave a perfect start to his team by bowling the first over maiden. Monu Dagar and Surinder Sharma Played with caution and scored 31 runs in 8 overs .After settling down Monu Dagar 20 Runs from 21 balls, Surinder Sharma 29 Runs from 49 balls and Ankit Singh 22 runs from 21 balls threw away their wickets .Bowlers kept the pressure with nagging line and length and did not allow remaining batsman to score quickly. Last wicket pair Sanjay and Buddhi Singh showed right technique and they negotiated six overs to remain not out .Captain Rajeev Khera tried all his resources to dismiss the last pair but all went in vein. Zion Express scored 111 runs (nelson) for the loss of nine wickets and lost the match by huge margin of 52 runs. For his all round performance P.M.S. Reddy was adjudged MAN OF THE MATCH.
